In his image I am.

Ngithokoze ziNdlondlo,

I write this note, not because I am smart, I write this note not because I know better, I write this note simply because I have allowed myself to be led by the spirit. Lend me your ear….

Many children of the soil are tainted and tortured for the gift they have been granted at birth, our brothers and sisters are suffering in our hands because we have deemed it righteous that we judge them based on their calling and the question is why? Why is it so when the Lord has spoken in Jeremiah as follows?

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” I being the servant in the house of the Lord, my God why am I being persecuted because I do not subscribe to the limitations of this church structure nor that? Yet I have been called by Him, to serve and praise Him for the being that I am and with the gifts He bestowed upon me

In our sleep

Thokoza!

Why do we dream ? That is a question worth being asked, “Dreams are the touchstones of our characters.” – Henry David Thoreau

Dreams have fascinated philosophers for thousands of years, but only recently have dreams been subjected to empirical research and concentrated scientific study. Chances are that you’ve often found yourself puzzling over the mysterious content of a dream, or perhaps you’ve wondered why you dream at all. Many different theories have emerged to help explain the mystery of why we dream.

First, let’s start by answering a basic question – What is a dream? A dream can include any of the images, thoughts and emotions that are experienced during sleep. Dreams can be extraordinarily vivid or very vague; filled with joyful emotions or frightening imagery; focused and understandable or unclear and confusing. Why do we dream? What purpose do dreams serve? While many theories have been proposed, no single consensus has emerged. Considering the enormous amount of time we spend in a dreaming state, the fact that researchers do not yet understand the purpose of dreams may seem baffling.

The naivety of Varsity

Hey There!

Out of all the creatures that exist in the world the most naive of them, all have to be varsity students. If they are not conversating about fashion, sports and the next big gig etc they are acting as if they are the coolest thing to ever descend upon the grounds of campus. Admittedly there is diversity in any group however I’m afraid these are outliers. Majority rules and the subject in concern are the cool folk of varsity.

The modernised healer

Thokoza!

There is a saying that goes “the more things change, the more they stay the same”

Izolo ngihletyelwe ngumngoma, yesterday a Sangoma whispered in my ear. She is a Traditional healer of the old order and she was intrigued by the sense of ignorance that is portrayed by our generation on matters pertaining to tradition.

She asks, what in life has changed that was not there before you were born? What has in essence stopped to exist or lost its relevance in the so called primitive methods compared to civilization? And truly what can be the actual reason for people to shy away from who they are? And I for one could not fathom to answer these crucial questions.

I have witnessed with a heavy heart the growing numbers of people with the gift of ubuNgoma running away from their calling and I ask why? Why would a child rebel against his destiny, how can one be so determined to run away from him or her-self ?

Symbolism-end of life P1

Thokoza!

The symbolism in dreams can take place a few years before the death of a loved one or a friend. Then the years roll into months then weeks. Once the time of death for someone is a few months away the warnings grow more intense and my ancestors try to send me different warning signs, sometimes I get a warning on a daily basis before the person passes on. Once the time of death is a few weeks away the warning signs get more intense and I get a horrible pain in my chest and throat. Now dreams foretelling the coming of the death of a loved one or friend I don’t like,  as the feeling of gloom, sadness and tiredness lies heavy upon me for days and the simple task of eating or cleaning seems like a mountain that I can’t climb.
